Hey everyone,

So here is the deal for this Sunday.Mr. Scofield, Mr.Goodwin, Mr. Querios & Mr. Savageau need to arrive at the trail for 9am to complete most of the cutting before too many scouts arrive.

I would like all Scouts and Mr. Pescaro to arrive around 10am, but no sooner. Please bring clippers, iron rakes, shovels, and pitchforks (if anyone has a wheel barrel that might be helpful) Scouts will be clearring the trail of brush and down trees, so Bring Work Gloves. Furthermore, I don't know what the weather will be like Sunday, but baring an ice storm, we will be outside. Dress appropriately, that means boots, layers and warm gloves. I also heard a rumor that there will be coffee and donuts on site.As a reminder, there is a possiblity that a representative of the school my show up, so you should be ready to represent yourself and Troop 180 at it's very finest.

Directions from the Church (Holden Center to 65 Glenwood Rd Rutland, MA)

Leaving the Church turn right on Main St (122A) follow it to Rutland for approx 5miles

Turn Right on to Glenwood Rd (after Wachusett Lumber, but before the Center of Rutland)

follow this for .7 miles passing the Rutland Community Center

Turn right into the driveway of 65 Glenwood Rd (Glenwood Elementary School)

**If you pass the Rail Trial you've gone too far**

Many Thanks,

Greg

Be Prepared - Check out the Camping Checklist

Our first Troop meeting will be at 7 pm on Tuesday September 8 at the First Congregational Church.

Our first camping trip is September 18 returning the 19th on Cape Ann  - (see attached flyer in associated e-mail for details).

Our PLC had a very productive meeting last night and a calendar for the Troop activities through December will be distributed at the meeting but I will try and email it out before the meeting.

We hope to see all the scouts back and ready for a great year of Fun in the Outdoors with plenty of opportunities to try new things along the way.   We get started fast with a trip to catch the Cod Fish out of Gloucester.  ( Thank you Mr. Pescaro for planning this trip!)

Over the first two meetings we will be electing and appointing leaders and organizing the patrols with the theme of the month being Democracy.  Of course we will also be preparing for the Deep Sea Fishing trip and get a little lesson on Fishing Laws and who needs a license to fish in local lakes, rivers and the ocean.
