Older Scouts are chosen to attend the  NYLT, a week long program available to second year or older Scouts with at least the First Class Rank.  These Scouts will attend the program with Scouts from the entire council, giving them a well rounded view of how their peers in other troops operate.  Often these Scouts advance to senior positions of leadership with the troop.  It has not been decided which Scouts will be attending the program which is held at Camp Winocksett in NH

Troop Committee Meeting, February 1, 2006 First Congregational Church, 7pm
The first Wednesday of every month a Troop Committee Meeting is held.  All parents are invited.  This is a great way to learn about upcoming events, discuss issues, and learn about how the Troop functions.  Every parent (male and female) is an integral part of Troop 180.

Summer Camp, July 9 to July 15 2006
Camp Wanocksett near Jaffrey, NH  offers a week long Scout camp.  Every year, Troop 180 Scouts attend the camp as a group with several adult leaders and parents.  The first year Scouts are especially encouraged to attend.  During this week, friendships are made, skills are learned, and a strong foundation for a Scouting career is developed and enhanced.

High Adventure 2006 -  It's up to you!  Get your ideas to your patrol leaders and senior patrol. If the idea flies, be ready to support with training and fundraising (and getting your parents to help!)

Rope Bridge, Holden Days,  last Saturday in August (usually)
Troop 180 participates in the annual Holden Days celebration by building a rope bridge.  It is a very popular event and a big hit with the young people.  Scouts and parents put the bridge together, act as spotters, and coordinate events.  Our new location at the First Congregational Church has allowed us to expand our area and put on additional demonstrations, such as Dutch Oven Cooking and an information booth and Scout sign up area.
